The Wine
Gothic’s 2019 Auction wine represents our 13th vintage, and the 13th consecutive year we have been fortunate to work with fruit from the historic Hyland vineyard. Sourced from the famed Pommard of Block 5, this wine reflects our own history, alongside that of the Valley itself. Our 2019 #SaveRestaurants Pinot was fermented with 25% whole cluster and aged 16 months in a second-pass barrel. The overwhelming majority of our wines are sold in restaurants around the country. We are restaurant people, and we offer this wine in support of our friends and family in the hospitality business.
The Winery
Gothic’s first vintage was 2009; the Willamette spoke to us as a region uniquely capable of producing both the world’s tastiest “pound for pound” Pinot, alongside jaw-dropping, site-specific wine ready and waiting to stand toe-to-toe alongside the world’s finest. We’ve come a long way since our initial efforts towards “best in class,” under-$25 Pinot noir. Today, Gothic’s production includes limited bottlings, whole cluster and native yeast ferments, judicious use of new oak, rosé and Chardonnay. Pleasure remains our guiding light, and we make our wines without fear of the new.
